Abstract
Unlike the discussion about the propriety of American intelligence services conducting collection operations for the benefit of American business, there is far less complexity surrounding the matter of counterintelligence support. Indeed, for some commentators, the question is not whether support is appropriate. Rather, their questions concern how much more and in what forms should support be provided. Yet, the question for competitive intelligence (CI) professionals is "Why should we have any interest in counterintelligence?"
